    Description

    Summary of Position:

    The Kits Volunteer Event host will work alongside the Director of Kits Programs to lead the Kits for Kids events around the country. Participants at Kits for Kids events will pack small kits with basic first aid and hygiene products geared towards children. The Event Host will be trained to lead Kits for Kids packing events with organizations that sponsor these kit-packing events. This role requires a high degree of organization, attention to detail, self-motivation, professionalism, and sufficient public speaking skills. Events will include coordination with organizations that are hosting events, giving a presentation detailing Project C.U.R.E.’s work, facilitating kit packing, and event set-up and take-down.

    Work Location: Volunteers must be based near our warehouse location in Philadelphia. Ability to travel within the United States is preferred but not required.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Prepare supplies and materials for Kits events
    • Ability to travel within the U.S. for events is highly preferred.
    • Follow Project C.U.R.E. procedures for event set-ups
    • Host Kits for Kids packing events, including event set-up, facilitating the activities, giving a presentation and event take-down.
    • Present the work of Project C.U.R.E. to event volunteers. Comfort with and sufficiency in presenting is required.
    • Always maintain a clean and safe work environment.
    • Report any injuries, accidents, or potentially hazardous situations immediately to the supervisor. If a direct supervisor is not immediately available, report to any Project C.U.R.E. staff member.

    Qualifications:

    • Ability to attend full-day training with the Director of Kits Programs.
    • Strong leadership and people skills, comfort with public speaking.
    • Basic knowledge of computers and email technology.
    • Willingness and ability to travel within the U.S.
    • Willingness and ability to work with and train event volunteers.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Attention to detail is essential.
