    Description

WSUA is seeking a Social Media Manager to build and maintain a consistent, credible, mission-driven presence across our digital platforms. This role is ideal for someone who understands how to translate complex humanitarian work into clear, compelling, emotionally grounded content that builds trust with donors, partners, and the public.

You will work directly with the Executive Director and Strategy & Partnerships team to shape WSUA’s digital identity and ensure our communications reflect accuracy, dignity, and professionalism.

    Key Responsibilities

    - Develop and maintain a weekly content calendar for LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram

    - Draft, edit, and publish posts that highlight WSUA’s mission, field updates, partnerships, and community stories

    - Ensure messaging is consistent with WSUA’s tone: professional, human-centered, and evidence-based

    - Create simple graphics or coordinate with designers when needed

    - Monitor engagement and recommend improvements based on analytics

    - Maintain an organized archive of posts, captions, and media for audit-ready documentation

    - Collaborate with leadership to support campaigns, announcements, and donor communications

    Ideal Candidate

    - Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for clarity and emotional nuance

    - Experience managing social media for nonprofits, advocacy groups, or mission-driven organizations

    - Ability to translate field information into accessible, respectful storytelling

    - Familiarity with Canva or similar tools (helpful but not required)

    - Organized, reliable, and comfortable working asynchronously

    - Values transparency, accuracy, and ethical communication

    Time Commitment

5–7 hours per week, flexible scheduling. This is a volunteer role, but WSUA provides strong mentorship, leadership exposure, and opportunities to shape a growing organization’s public voice.

    What You’ll Gain

    - Experience building the communications infrastructure of a rapidly developing nonprofit

    - Direct collaboration with leadership on strategy, messaging, and public engagement

    - A portfolio of high-impact, mission-driven content

    - The opportunity to support Ukrainian communities through responsible, dignified storytelling
