    Description

University of Iowa Health Care Volunteer Services is a program designed for members in the community who are over 18 years old wishing to improve the experiences of patients and their families. Volunteers bring warmth and joy to our patients' hospital experience. Community volunteers are often drawn to placements in pediatrics, patient visiting, or hospitality services. College student volunteers often are preparing for a career in the health sciences and are drawn to a variety of opportunities providing hands-on experience in patient care. Popular placements include our Intensive Care Units, the Burn Treatment Center, and Physical Therapies.

Prospective volunteers may learn more about the program and apply through the Volunteer Services website: https://uihc.org/become-volunteer
