    Description

    Activity Aides needed at MBIC

The Clubhouse is a not for profit organization that provides lifelong services and support to the elderly, disabled, and survivors of brain injury and stroke.

An activity assistant helps some of our elderly and lower functioning members complete tasks and activities. An activity assistant should be a patient and kind hearted individual who is willing to help people with various cognitive delays and neuropsychological impairments.

Responsibilities of an activity assistant would involve being partnered with a member for the day. The assistant would be expected to keep their members focused and task oriented. The member and activity assistant will work sided by side participating in activities like morning exercises or arts and crafts. The pair will also work together to complete tasks such as journaling and office secretarial duties. The activity assistant should remind both themselves and the member that they are there to help, not do the member tasks for them.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to be involved in a grass roots organization providing innovative services and support to those having suffered a brain injury.

If you have an interest in joining the team contact Tammiko via email tammiko@mbiclubhouse.org
