    Description

    Girls on the Run Coach

    We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated and positive women of all backgrounds. YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A RUNNER!

    As a Girls on the Run coach, you get to experience the program first hand, feel a sense of accomplishment that you have made a difference in the lives of girls and have a ton of fun with your team of coaches and incredible girls!

    Teams of volunteer coaches facilitate our easy-to-follow curriculum with 8-16 girls over the course of 10 weeks. Running and coaching experience is not required.

    Core Duties / Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

    • Understand and believe in the mission of Girls on the Run
    • Serve as a role model and mentor for program participants
    • Attend program session on selected day(s) on a consistent basis
    • Encourage and motivate all participants
    • Assist the head and assistant coaches with games and lessons
    • Participate in games and workouts with the girls, encouraging them to put their best effort into lesson conversations and workouts
    • Provide one-on-one attention to girls while in a group setting

    Qualifications

    • A strong desire to work in the field of youth character development
    • Conduct themselves in a responsible and reliable manner, showing a commitment to attendance and the team
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with participating girls and adult coaches
    • Flexibility to accommodate a changing environment
    • Strive to lead a healthy lifestyle and make positive, intentional choices in their own life
