    Description

    As the Low Entropy Foundation's Blog Editor, you will oversee a low-barrier online publishing space that encourages the sharing of stories and insights to foster community connection and personal growth. You will have a chance to shape the tone and thematic direction of the blog while working with a team of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about coordinating and promoting volunteer writers.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Edit articles for readability before publication and work with volunteer editors do to the same
    • Select and schedule articles for publication
    • Produce blog-related copy for the blog webpage and Low Entropy's social media platforms
    • Screen new volunteer writer applicants
    • Plan the thematic direction of the blog
    • Develop and maintain the structure of the blog article submission process in collaboration with the program coordinator
    • Communicate with the blog team and writers to resolve issues and answer questions
    • Collaborate with Low Entropy Foundation management to develop blog-related policy and protocols
    • Create new proposals for the growth of Low Entropy's written-word storytelling space

    Shifts/Commitment/Location:

    This role can be done completely remotely and has no fixed shift schedule. The volume of work varies with the volume of writing submitted to the blog, but in general one can expect to spend approximately 5-7 hours per month working on blog-related tasks.

    What We're Looking For:

    • Minimum age: 19 or older
    • A collaborative work style with the ability to take a leadership role in decision-making
    • Experience giving clear directions to a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Experience writing and editing, with the ability to mentor writers through their individual journeys
    • A self-motivated individual with the capacity to work independently
    • A reliable, detail-oriented individual
    • A desire to give back and make a difference
