Description
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Join our CHIPs (Citizens Helping Indio Police) program and contribute to local safety and service. Here’s how you can get involved:
- Patrol: Drive a patrol vehicle, assist with community safety, and become the eyes and ears for the Police Department. Operate vehicle controls and respond to dispatch calls.
- Traffic Control: Help manage traffic flow at events and busy intersections. Deploy traffic cones and flares, and ensure public safety with reflective vests.
- Parking Citations: Issue parking citations and manage violations. Maintain accurate records and decide between warnings and citations with good penmanship.
- Incident Verification: Interact with victims of minor crimes, complete incident reports, and help address community concerns.
- Mail Run: Deliver and pick up important documents and packages to various city departments, including the DA’s office, court house, and more.
- Special Events: Assist with organizing and supporting police department events and community outreach programs.
