    About Us

Born with almost no control over how—or with whom—they live their lives, women and girls in Rajasthan, India are finding ways to leap over barriers based on class, caste, and gender through the programs of the grassroots Indian organization Sambhali Trust.

Our team at Sambhali U.S. is proud to support their efforts and honored to tell the stories of the women and girls of Sambhali.

Volunteer Opportunity - About the Role

We are seeking passionate volunteers to join our Volunteer Engagement Committee (VEC) and help expand Sambhali Trust’s global volunteer community. This role is a chance to directly strengthen Sambhali’s mission by connecting new volunteers—both in the U.S. and internationally—to meaningful opportunities, including placements with Sambhali Trust in India.

    Key Responsibilities

      • Conduct outreach to universities, nonprofit organizations, and community institutions to recruit new volunteers.
      • Create and share engaging materials for potential and current volunteers.
      • Develop creative strategies to recruit, engage, and retain volunteers.
      • Assist with event planning and coordination to foster community engagement.
      • Ensure all mandatory forms are sent to new volunteers and confirm that forms are filled out and submitted by both new and existing volunteers.

    Skills & Qualifications

      • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
      • Organized and proactive, able to juggle multiple outreach efforts.
      • Comfortable using digital tools (Google Workspace, SharePoint, or similar).
      • Creativity and passion for building an inclusive, global volunteer community.
      • Prior volunteer management or outreach experience is a plus but not required.

    Cause Areas

      • Children & Youth
      • Education
      • Poverty
      • Sexual Abuse & Human Trafficking
      • Women
      • LGBTQ+

    Good For

      • Volunteers looking for flexible, impactful opportunities.
      • Anyone with a passion for women’s empowerment, education, and cross-cultural engagement.

    What You’ll Gain

      • Hands-on experience in volunteer engagement and nonprofit operations.
      • The chance to connect with and support an international grassroots movement.
      • An opportunity to contribute to the empowerment of women and girls in Rajasthan, India.
