Volunteer Opportunity: TTRPG Game Master (D&D 5E, REMOTE & LOCAL)

The TTRPG Game Master is a community volunteer role responsible for hosting monthly Dungeons & Dragons sessions. Whether running games remotely via our Discord or in person near Oneida, TN, this role helps create a welcoming, creative, and supportive space for players ages 15 and older. We are seeking enthusiastic storytellers who want to help build community through collaborative gameplay, and your contribution will be vital in shaping a positive gaming environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate a monthly TTRPG session for players aged 15+ to ensure engaging, inclusive gameplay experiences.
• Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive gaming environment.
• Guide players through storytelling, combat, exploration, and roleplay.
• Coordinate scheduling and game logistics with organization leaders.
• Represent the organization in a friendly, respectful, and supportive manner.
• Help ensure the game space remains welcoming to LGBTQIA2S+ players and community members.

Tools and Access

The Volunteer Game Master will be provided with:

• Access to our community Discord server for remote games
• Event scheduling support and community coordination
• Any needed details about the game format, group expectations, or session planning

Qualifications

• Comfortable hosting Dungeons & Dragons 5e games, either 2014 or 2024 edition, at the DM’s preference
• Friendly, patient, and able to support players of varying experience levels
• Comfortable working with players ages 15 and up
• Strong commitment to creating a safe, affirming, and LGBTQ-friendly environment
• Ability to communicate clearly and follow event guidelines
• For local roles: must live in or near Oneida, TN.
• For remote roles: stable internet connection and ability to host via Discord

Time Commitment

This is a volunteer role with a flexible commitment of approximately once per month for a single session, allowing you to contribute in a way that fits your schedule and interests.
