Are you an active-duty service member? A veteran? A military family member? Amedisys Compassionate Care has a super easy way for you to support our veterans on hospice care. We are asking service members, vets and military family members to record 30-90 second videos messages of thanks and support for our veterans on hospice service.
These can be sent form anywhere in the US. I (Kris the volunteer coordinator) collect them and edit them together into groups of 5 based on service branch and years served. They will become a part of a library at the hospice where we can get them to the vets who need extra support. for pinning ceremonies and veteran's celebrations.
We ask you to record in a well-lit room, speak clearly and slowly. Include your name, rank and branch of service, dates served. Please wear your uniform if you have one, or anything that signifies your service. The message should include words of thanks for their service, words of connection and compassion. If you have a musical talent, feel free to share a recording of yourself playing or singing patriotic music.
These video messages are used to celebrate veteran's pining ceremonies, shown to the vets if they need a little boost on an extra dark day. Once you submit a video you will get a release to sign, you will be able to look at the final group your video is part of and updates about the project and what it is accomplishing. There is no training or onboarding process for this opportunity, just send the video to the QR code in the graphic or to my direct email: kris.kelleher@amedisys.com. If you are interested in other volunteer opportunities both remote and in person respond to the ad and I will be happy to answer any questions.
Thank you for considering opening your heart to our hospice patients on their darkest days.
