    Description

Hospice Volunteers Needed in North Austin

We are seeking Volunteers in North Austin! When you become a volunteer with Comforts of Home Healthcare, you’ll receive training designed to help you feel confident in your new role, feel more connected with your hospice team family, and understand the vital contribution you’re making to people living with a life-limiting illness. We see our volunteers as an essential and treasured part of our Hospice Care team.

    Why volunteer ?

    • Volunteering is a unique opportunity to improve someone’s quality of life as they continue to live as fully and comfortable as possible.
    • By volunteering you'll be helping a great cause. Even giving a couple of hours a month can help to support our hospice team and ensure that we are able to continue providing quality care to our patients and their families.
    • Express gratitude for the help received during you loved ones illness.
    • You’re giving back, and you’re helping others. Helping others promotes satisfaction and self-worth. Plus, it’s good for your health-mind, body, and spirit.
    • Volunteering allows you to showcase talents and skills such as singing or playing and instrument to those who may not have the ability to get out any longer.

Volunteers connect with our patients with activities such as reading together, sharing memories, playing games, looking through photo albums, fun crafts, enjoying music, or simply sitting outside and appreciating nature our patients. Through these meaningful interactions our patients are given the gift of true friendship. Something as simple as holding a hand or listening creates such a powerful impact for our beloved patients as they continue their journey with a life limiting illness.

Please note that all volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
