🌿 What Bereavement Volunteers Do:

• 📞 Make Supportive Calls: Reach out to grieving families to check in, listen, and offer comfort.
• 🏡 Provide Visits: Offer companionship and emotional support through in-person visits when families need someone to talk to.
• ✉️ Assist with Mailings: Help prepare and send bereavement cards, newsletters, and resources that remind families they’re not alone.
• 🕯️ Memorial Service Planning & Execution: Play a vital role in our annual memorial service — from baking cookies and decorating to welcoming guests, speaking, or sharing readings.
• 💜 Spiritual Support: Help guide patients and families along their spiritual path as they navigate grief, honoring their loved one’s memory in meaningful ways.

📅 Commitment:

Bereavement support is a required service in hospice care and is offered for up to 13 months after a patient’s passing. As a volunteer, you become an essential part of that mission — ensuring families feel supported, comforted, and cared for long after their loss.
