    Description

Rize Hospice welcomes compassionate and dependable individuals who would like to make a meaningful impact by spending time with patients during their final stage of life. Volunteers provide comfort, companionship, and emotional encouragement, offering patients the reassurance of a caring presence when it matters most. We serve patients throughout Orange County, Riverside County, Los Angeles County, and San Diego County, with flexible scheduling designed to accommodate each volunteer’s availability. No previous hospice experience is required, as all volunteers receive training and continued guidance to help them feel confident and supported in their role.

Volunteer visits are arranged according to both patient needs and volunteer preferences, allowing for a personalized and enjoyable experience. Activities may include friendly conversation, reading aloud, playing games, watching movies, arts and crafts, or simply being present to brighten a patient’s day and provide a sense of connection and comfort. Become part of a caring team and help bring dignity, peace, and companionship to those receiving hospice care.

    Instructions:

Individuals interested in volunteering with Rize Hospice must complete several onboarding requirements before beginning service, including a background screening, proof of identification, tuberculosis clearance, a physical examination, and volunteer orientation and training. These steps help ensure the safety and well-being of both patients and volunteers.

Volunteering with hospice provides a meaningful opportunity to gain experience within a healthcare setting while developing valuable personal and professional skills. Volunteers often strengthen their communication abilities, expand their experience for future career paths, and build lasting professional relationships through their involvement with the hospice team.
