The mission of the Food Bank of Santa Barbara is to transform hunger into health with fresh produce, nutritious groceries, and nutrition education for all, from preschoolers to older adults, veterans to farm workers.

As a Food Bank of Santa Barbara (in partnership with Hunger Free America Nutrition Educator you will play a significant part in our mission. We teach preschoolers to teenagers a lesson on nutrition such as why our body needs water. The older classes have a recipe for the children to participate in. Volunteers are needed to instruct children in a fun and interactive lesson plan that promotes healthy eating and physical activity.

Being bilingual in Spanish is helpful (not required). Will need to complete a background check (paid by FBSB)

3 volunteers need to do our Nutrition Education programs that typically start in October and end in May. It is once a month for about 2-3 hours, the programs either run for 8 months (1x a month) or 8 consecutive weeks. Dependent upon the program.
