    Description

Digitization Volunteer - New York City

Volunteers in the New York City area are invited to help us in our mission to preserve historic records from across New York State. Digitization volunteers are trained to:

    • Scan documents
    • Perform image quality control
    • Follow best practices for file management and inventory

Our New York City Digitization Center has state-of-the-art digitization hardware that we typically operate Monday through Friday in two-hour shifts, starting at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.

Interested in working in our New York City Digitization Center?

Attend volunteer orientation! Every month, our Manager of Digital Collections trains prospective volunteers to scan, index, and edit historical records.

Volunteers who demonstrate ease and comfort with the technology and a desire to return will be invited to sign up for future volunteer spots.
