Description
This is a unique opportunity in the Winston Salem area to work with the Forsyth County DWI Taskforce and local high school students. We participate in schools through out the Winston Salem and surrounding area. Currently we are already participating in 3-12 presentations monthly within Drivers Education classes afterschool presenting our Power of You(th) program. Working with the Taskforce has been amazing since we are able to present our information and real-life scenarios from the Taskforce.
This volunteer position would be great for a teacher or former teacher, college student, parent or any other adult in the area that has a passion for educating our youth. A senior in high school may be considered.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Present to schools with MADD’s Power of You(th) program
- Help coordinate MADD’s program implementation specifically related to youth and outreach to additional locations
- Establish a network of community members, schools, law enforcement, public officials and other prominent members of the community to maintain and support the goals of MADD’s underage drinking prevention programs
- Staff booths at special events, health and safety fairs as available
