Turn your fitness goals into meaningful support for Houston families.
Join Team 3ABF for the 2027 Chevron Houston Marathon Run for a Reason campaign. We are seeking runners, walkers, fitness enthusiasts, community groups, and supporters of all experience levels who are willing to raise funds for families navigating the death of a loved one.
You do not have to be an experienced athlete or fundraiser. Choose the participation option that fits your interests and goals.
Choose How You Will Participate
You can support Team 3ABF in one of four ways:
- Run the Chevron Houston Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Run or walk the Aramco Houston Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Run or walk the We Are Houston 5K (3.1 miles)
- Raise funds for Team 3ABF without participating in a race
You may participate individually or form a group through your business, run club, fitness group, church, family, or community organization.
The Impact You Will Make
Since 1997, 3 “A” Bereavement Foundation has supported low-income and working-poor families throughout the Houston metropolitan area after the death of a loved one.
Services are provided at no cost and include:
- Funeral, burial, and cremation guidance
- Crime victims assistance
- Emergency financial assistance
- Grief counseling
- Bereavement aftercare and follow-up support
The Run for a Reason campaign is 3ABF’s pinnacle annual fundraiser. Funds raised by Team 3ABF help ensure that Houston-area families can receive guidance, assistance, counseling, and continued support during one of the most difficult times of their lives.
What Volunteers Will Do
As a Team 3ABF volunteer fundraiser, you will:
- Create a personal online fundraising page
- Share your campaign with friends, relatives, coworkers, and community members
- Help spread awareness about 3ABF’s services
- Optionally participate in the 5K, half marathon, or marathon
- Run, walk, or fundraise in honor or memory of someone you have lost, if you choose
Support Provided by 3ABF
You do not need to be an experienced fundraiser. Team 3ABF participants will receive:
- A personal fundraising page
- A PDF fundraising guide with practical ideas & sample approaches for sharing their campaign
- Encouragement and support throughout the campaign
- The option to request a personal fundraising walkthrough or support call

- We Are Houston 5K: Saturday, January 16, 2027
- Aramco Houston Half Marathon: Sunday, January 17, 2027
- Chevron Houston Marathon: Sunday, January 17, 2027
