    Description

    A brand new opportunity at our hospital! Caring Hands Massage volunteers provide a non-therapeutic light, gentle and slow hand massage. It is offered to patients, caregivers, family members, or staff who could benefit from a warm and caring touch to decrease stress and anxiety. This shift is a two-hour weekly commitment. Shifts are available Mon-Fri between 10am - 5pm.

    No previous experience required. Volunteers receive training and practice prior to visiting patients in our Simulation Center. Please see the video to get an idea what the process of giving hand massages looks like: https://youtu.be/V-uitoRdh0I

    Requirements:

    • Effective communication skills
    • Friendly, welcoming and positive attitude
    • Comfortable with hand-to-hand contact
    • Perform light lifting, if required
    • Reach and perform repetitive hand movements
    • Push a cart with supplies
