    Description

    Why this role matters

The The Woo Cycle book project is a key part of how Period Reality expands menstrual and body literacy beyond adults to young readers and families. This book will help children understand their bodies, cycles, and change in a respectful, age-appropriate way, breaking taboos and opening space for honest conversation.

The Social Media Engagement Manager will help ensure these conversations reach the right audiences online through thoughtful content, creative storytelling, and meaningful community engagement.

    What you’ll do

    • Lead and manage the social media presence for The Woo Cycle book project
    • Develop creative content ideas aligned with the book’s mission and audience
    • Create and schedule posts across platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn
    • Engage with our online community through comments, messages, and conversations
    • Collaborate with volunteers and creative contributors to develop campaigns and content
    • Shape messaging so it remains accessible, sensitive, and mission-aligned
    • Explore trends, formats, and storytelling approaches to increase engagement and reach
    • Monitor platform performance and refine strategies to grow awareness and impact

    What we’re looking for

    • Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content
    • Strong interest in storytelling, community engagement, and social impact
    • Familiarity with Instagram, LinkedIn, and evolving digital trends
    • Someone proactive, creative, and able to take ownership of tasks consistently
    • Strong written communication and audience engagement skills
    • Able to handle sensitive topics with empathy, care, and respect
    • Comfortable working collaboratively while also managing tasks independently
    • Excited about helping make body literacy accessible to families and communities
