Description
Errand volunteers shop for older adult client and/or adult clients with disabilities for basic errand needs (pick up groceries, personal care items, prescriptions, etc.)
Duties:
- Run errands for client once a week
- Take photos of all receipts, provide original to recipient and submit copies to BCHD as directed
- Attend semi-annual volunteer support meetings for Older Adult volunteer programs
- Discuss any immediate client concerns, etc. with Care Manager by phone or e-mail
- Maintain confidentiality of client
- Follow all Covid-19 health guidance as provided by BCHD
- Provide and keep current copies of driver’s license and auto insurance card
- Must complete any necessary paperwork (e.g., Errand Authorization Form, visit reports) by the 5th of each month
- Occasional volunteer convenings as needed
Qualifications Needed:
- Must be 18 or older with viable transportation and good driving record
- Empathetic and understanding to the needs of older adults
- Physical ability to carry groceries and other household items
- Commitment 1-1.5 hrs weekly plus periodic support meetings, min. 6 month commitment
- Screening needed: TB Test, Background Check, DMV check and Driving record.
