    Description

Board of Directors for Mycelium Youth Network

Mycelium Youth Network (MYN) is seeking passionate and dedicated organizers and movement leaders to join our Board of Directors! This emerging opportunity will be critical to solidifying MYN’s organizational structure as we continue supporting young people with the knowledge and skills to usher in a climate just and resilient future.

Organization Overview: Mycelium Youth Network (MYN) prepares frontline youth for hopeful and imaginative leadership in climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience through hands-on ancestral approaches and STEAM that emphasize stewardship and relationship-building.

We create climate resilience and climate mitigation programming to strengthen holistic relationships and build regenerative economies. We believe it is imperative that youth are trained in both climate adaptation and mitigation as part of their math and science education in order to lead the way toward comprehensive solutions to climate change.

As a board member, you will play a key role in shaping MYN’s strategic visioning, programmatic development, and ensuring long-term sustainability.

We seek Board members who have experience in:

    • Finance – Values-driven budgeting, financial strategy, and nonprofit fiscal oversight
    • Legal – Strengthening internal compliance, operations, and legal strategic planning.
    • Fundraising & Development – Expanding resources, donor engagement, and securing financial support

Admin and logistics: Must be based in the Northern California Region as we do anticipate onsite retreats and planning sessions. Must be comfortable working in a largely remote environment that uses Zoom, Google Suite, and CRM and is at the same time highly collaborative.

Pay + Benefits: This position is unpaid. Currently all of MYN’s Board Members are unpaid; however we do offer opportunities for professional development. Long term, we envision developing resourcing strategies to support a thriving Board that reflects Mycelium’s work and community.

If you are committed to environmental justice and racial equity, youth leadership, and organizational sustainability, we invite you to apply.

This volunteer open will be reviewing applicants on a rolling basis with priority consideration by April 24th.
