    This is like yard work with a team. It can be physically demanding. One should have the ability to navigate uneven terrain, use hand tools safely, bend over and lift things. Plus, there can be exposure to biting/stinging insects and plants.

    Outdoor work on the Rountree Branch Trail

    Volunteer in the fresh air! Trail maintenance teams meet at recurring 2-hour weekly workdays to restore habitat, remove invasive species, plant native species, and keep the trail looking great for the Platteville Community Arboretum (PCA). Current teams meet Mondays 8-10 am, Tuesdays 8:30-10:30 am, Wednesdays 8:30-10:30 am or Wednesdays 5:30-7:30 pm and occasional Saturday mornings. Most crews work April-October. Monday crew may continue into fall and early winter.

    4 shifts available, during warmer months:

    • Mondays: 8:00 to 10:00 AM
    • Tuesdays: 8:30 to 10:30 AM
    • Wednesdays: 8:30 to 10:30 AM
    • Wednesdays: 5:30 to 7:30 PM
