Cuddle and care for our dogs!

Want to make a direct impact on the daily lives of our puppies and dogs? As an Dog Care Volunteer, you’ll provide hands-on care by feeding, cleaning dog pens, doing laundry and dishes, and socializing dogs. Help is needed throughout the day as early as 9 am or as late as 5 pm, typically on Mondays & Tuesdays only.

Time Commitment: Two hours per week, or every other week on a regularly scheduled shift – occasional need for ad hoc support.

Qualifications: Comfortable bending, squatting, and kneeling; ability to lift up to 25 pounds comfortably; will require standing/walking for the majority of the shift; ability to work independently; experience handling dogs preferred but not required.

Duties: Help Hopalong staff in caring for the physical and emotional well-being of dogs and puppies in the Oakland office; walk dogs, provide dogs with clean water and food, clean dog pens, do laundry, wash dishes; groom and socialize dogs and puppies; help monitor our animals population, providing valuable feedback to staff about concerns and observations.
