    Description

Monumental Impact is seeking volunteer(s) to serve as our Facility / IT Liaison Lead(s), helping improve the technology, systems, documentation, website, and internal workflows that support our community makerspace.

This is a hands-on volunteer role with the opportunity to guide interns on practical projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Support IT access, shared files, forms, and internal documentation
    • Help organize technology workflows for volunteers, mentors, interns and community members
    • Assist with electronics kit preparation for member programs and cohorts
    • Support developing an internal AI / systems knowledgebase
    • Help maintain data dashboards for participation, engagement, and programs
    • Process calendar information for newsletters, Slack, website updates, and reminders
    • Support basic updates to the marketing website, including events, program pages, links, and calls to action
    • Create simple checklists, templates, and how-to guides
    • Work with interns to define tasks, review progress, and complete useful deliverables

    Helpful Skills

    • IT support, systems organization, or project coordination
    • WordPress or website content management
    • Google Workspace, Sheets, Forms, or Calendars
    • Data dashboards or reporting
    • AI productivity tools
    • Technical writing or process documentation
    • Interest in mentoring students or emerging professionals

    Time Commitment

Flexible, based on availability. A regular weekly or biweekly commitment is preferred so projects can keep moving and interns have consistent support.

Some work may be done remotely, but in-person participation at Monumental Impact is preferred and helpful, especially for electronics kit preparation, intern mentoring, and facility-related tasks.

    Good Fit For

This role is ideal for an organized, hands-on adult volunteer who enjoys solving practical problems, supporting people with technology, and helping interns gain real-world experience in a mission-driven makerspace.

    Instructions:

    Background Check Requirement

To help maintain a safe, welcoming, and trusted environment for all members of our community, Monumental Impact requires background checks for all volunteer roles.

As a nonprofit organization, volunteers age 21 and over are asked to cover the cost of their background check. Monumental Impact coordinates the process, provides instructions, and reviews results in accordance with our policies and applicable regulations.

If after your interview, we both want to move forward, then the next step would be a background check. We’ll walk you through the process, answer any questions, and share next steps before anything is finalized.
