    Description

Geeks Rule is a nonprofit dedicated to increasing interest and proficiency in STEM among underserved middle schools. All our programming is offered free to schools thanks to the generosity of our supporters. We offer 4 programs:

    1. Speaker Series - we provide STEM professionals to speak (remotely) to students about their careers
    2. Field trips - for some schools (dependent on geography and scheduling) we arrange for field trips to STEM organizations so students can see what it is like to work in a STEM environment
    3. STEM Afterschool Program - we partnered with Teachers College to develop a standards-aligned curriculum for a full year of afterschool programming (2 days/week). We provide the curriculum, the school provides the teacher in the room.
    4. Biology Club - similar to our STEM Afterschool Program, but with a total focus on biology. The curriculum is presented through the lens of social justice, which adds a further element of interest among the students.

Geeks Rule is looking for a volunteer to help us identify and connect with schools and their principals about partnering with Geeks Rule. There is no cost to the school, and no commitments, so this is not a sales position.

The volunteer will be able to do everything from home, whether it is sending out emails or making phone calls.
