Free Store Production Volunteer
Crisis Assistance Ministry | Charlotte, NC
Looking for a hands-on way to make a difference in Charlotte? Join the volunteer team at Crisis Assistance Ministry and help prepare essential clothing and household items for our neighbors in need!
What You'll Do
Our Free Store Production Volunteers work behind the scenes to help keep our Free Store stocked and ready for customers. Volunteers help:
- Sort donated clothing and household items
- Inspect donations for quality
- Organize and prepare items for the Free Store
- Hang and process clothing
- Keep production and sorting areas organized
- Work alongside other volunteers and staff to keep donations moving efficiently
This is an active, hands-on volunteer opportunity in a fun, welcoming, and fast-paced environment. You'll see firsthand how community donations are transformed into resources that help families throughout Mecklenburg County.
When Can I Volunteer?
Opportunities are available Monday through Saturday:
Morning Shift: 9:00 AM–11:30 AM
Afternoon Shift: 1:00 PM–3:30 PM
Volunteer once, come regularly, or find a schedule that works for you. We especially welcome volunteers interested in becoming consistent members of our volunteer community.
What Should I Know?
No previous experience is necessary—we'll show you everything you need to know!
Because this is an active production environment, closed-toe shoes are required. Comfortable clothing that allows you to move, sort, organize, and work on your feet is recommended.
