    Mission Statement

    The mission of Mental Health and Recovery Counseling Education and Training (MHRCET) is to empower underserved youth by providing supportive services, fostering community engagement, and creating equitable opportunities. We aim to break down systemic barriers that limit access to education, mental health resources, and pathways to success, ensuring every young person has the tools, support, and opportunities needed to reach their full potential.

    Overview:

    The Research Assistant Volunteer supports our programs by gathering, organizing, and combining data related to underserved communities and underserved youth. This role is ideal for curious, analytical individuals who are interested in equity focused research and using data to inform programs, advocacy, and decision making.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct research related to underserved communities, youth, and social service systems
    • Review and become familiar with demographic and programmatic data
    • Collect, organize, and summarize quantitative and qualitative information
    • Assist with gathering and aggregating data for reports and presentations
    • Maintain organized research files and source documentation

    Ideal Skills & Qualities:

    • Interest in social equity, youth development, and underserved populations
    • Strong research, reading comprehension, and analytical skills
    • Comfortable working with data, reports, and written sources
    • Detail oriented with the ability to interpret information clearly
    • Organized, reliable, and able to follow research guidelines
    • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with care
