General Volunteers Needed for our Programs And Services

This is a basic, general call for volunteers who care about our military, veterans and their families. USASOA offers grassroots programs and services that directly impact the quality of life for our heroes, past and present. Please take a look at our programs and services our website www.USASOA.org and send us a message if you feel that you would like to use your abilities, your skills, and talents in helping to ensure that our veterans are treated as our greatest national treasures.

    1. Homeless and Elderly Veterans Outreach Programs: prepare and serve food to homeless veterans on the street, living in transitional housing units and elderly veterans. we also provide care packages for homeless veterans, clothing and toiletries.
    2. Food For Troops: through our monthly collections drives and financial contributions, we hold food distribution evens on local military bases and at our headquarters to help ease the struggle of food insecurity within and among our military families in the DMV. Our headquarters also contains a food pantry for times when military families reach out to us for assistance.
    3. Operation Reboot - Peer to Peer Group is our organizations suicide prevention program that works to restore purpose, fellowship and a sense of belonging to service members and veterans of every age and period of service.
    4. Christmas Cards For Our Troops: every Holiday season will collect and distribute cards from all over the nation and provide them to service members on military bases.
    5. BBQ FOR OUR HEROES Events at Walter Reed Military Hospital: since 2015, our organization has held monthly summertime BBQ's at the USO Center on base at Walter Reed to boost morale and to ensure that our brave service members know just how much we care about them and that they have not been forgotten.

    Thank you.
