    Description

STEM Event Volunteers Needed — Fleet Fest STEM Days, October 22–23

STEM R’US is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support our interactive exhibit during Fleet Fest STEM Days in Hampton Roads, Virginia, on October 22–23, 2026.

Fleet Fest STEM Days introduces thousands of elementary and middle school students to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through engaging, hands-on activities. STEM R’US volunteers will help students explore engineering, creativity, observation, and problem-solving at our interactive booth.

    Volunteer responsibilities may include:

    • Guiding students through our 3D-pen CREATE station
    • Facilitating the rapid INSPECT engineering challenge
    • Welcoming students and managing activity flow
    • Encouraging students as they solve problems and test ideas
    • Assisting with setup, materials, participation counts, and cleanup

Volunteers may serve on October 22, October 23, or both days. Shift options and final venue details will be provided during the confirmation process.

Previous STEM, education, engineering, youth-development, or event experience is helpful but not required. We are looking for volunteers who are dependable, encouraging, comfortable engaging with young people, and enthusiastic about helping students discover what they can create and accomplish.

Selected volunteers must attend a virtual orientation, complete required safety and mandatory-reporting training, follow STEM R’US youth-protection expectations, and arrive on time for their assigned shift.

This is an excellent opportunity for educators, engineers, college students, STEM professionals, military-affiliated community members, and anyone passionate about expanding access to meaningful STEM experiences.

Join STEM R’US in helping students see themselves as problem-solvers, creators, leaders, and future innovators.
