Become a Hospice Volunteer – Provide Comfort, Compassion & Connection
Organization Name: Gentle Transitions Hospice
Location:
Temple/Killeen/Belton/Waco & Surrounding areas/Hill County (In-person)
Are you someone who finds deep meaning in offering comfort and companionship to others? Our hospice program is looking for compassionate individuals to become hospice volunteers—ordinary people making an extraordinary difference in the final chapter of someone’s life.
As a hospice volunteer, you might:
- Visit patients in their homes or long-term care facilities for friendly conversation, companionship, reading, or quiet presence
- Provide relief for family caregivers with short respite visits
- Make check-in phone calls to families or bereavement support calls
- Help in our office with mailings and data entry
Whether you prefer hands-on connection or behind-the-scenes support, we offer a role that matches your comfort level and interests.
No medical experience required—just a warm heart, good listening skills, and reliability. We provide comprehensive training and ongoing support.
This is a wonderful opportunity for retirees, veterans, caregivers, or anyone seeking to give back in a deeply human way. Your time and compassion can be a tremendous gift to a patient and their loved ones.
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 18
- Background check (we provide)
- Attend volunteer orientation/training
- Flexible commitment
Make a difference. Be a presence. Walk beside someone at the end of life.
Apply today and become a part of our hospice care team!
