United Planet is the US and Canadian member of the International Cultural Youth Exchange, or ICYE. As a volunteer in Ecuador, you will be hosted by VASE, ICYE's Ecuadorian partner organization. VASE is a nonprofit that is committed to promoting global citizenship and fostering social support in Ecuador through volunteerism.

Possible volunteer projects include:

- Working in elementary and high schools, assisting with various subjects

- Organizing activities at the schools, such as a soccer team

- Helping organizations that focus on children from a variety of disadvantaged backgrounds including supervising play and activities

- Assisting organizations in fundraising and workshops

- Supporting families from poorer areas through reintegration and counseling
