    Description

Services for the UnderServed (S:US) is a non-profit organization that believes that every New Yorker deserves to know home in NYC. S:US works with communities and individuals in every corner of the city and on Long Island to make sure every New Yorker has the chance to find home. Because home is more than a roof. Home is stability, safety, community, and a sense of belonging. And the opportunity to find home is the right of every New Yorker.

Lefferts Day Habilitation hosts self-advocacy groups for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities on every other Thursday from 5:00PM to 7:30PM. Participants meet to build advocacy skills, support one another, and explore creative ways to express themselves. Recent activities have included painting, poster-making, and discussions about new approaches to advocacy. A volunteer photographer would take candid photos of participants painting, drawing, and engaging in empowering activities. Volunteers must bring their own equipment, such as a cell phone or digital camera.
