    Description

    Description:

My Good Brain (MGB) is a 501(c)(3) arts nonprofit dedicated to youth mental wellness through art and play.

The San Diego Outreach & Events Coordinator Volunteer supports My Good Brain’s local outreach efforts in San Diego County. This role helps with in-person, family-friendly events, booth events, art classes/workshops, office-based activities, setup, facilitation, tabling, and sharing mental health resources with the community.

Because MGB has frequent San Diego events at our local office, this role is best for volunteers who live near or can reliably travel to the Point Loma / Loma Portal / Truxtun area. Volunteers should be comfortable supporting recurring in-person activities, working with children and families, and communicating availability in advance.

    Responsibilities may include:

    • Supporting MGB at San Diego family-friendly outreach events, booth events, workshops, and community programs
    • Helping with event setup, facilitation, cleanup, and participant support
    • Supporting art classes, creative wellness activities, or youth/family-centered workshops
    • Assisting with office-based activities, including preparing materials, organizing supplies, or setting up workshop materials
    • Tabling at events and sharing MGB resources with children, families, caregivers, and community members
    • Supporting partner communication or event coordination when needed
    • Communicating availability, attendance, and schedule conflicts in advance through Slack, Asana, and/or Google Calendar

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Located near or able to travel to Point Loma, Loma Portal, Truxtun, or nearby San Diego areas
    • Reliable transportation or guardian permission if under 18
    • Comfortable working with children, families, caregivers, and community members in family-friendly event settings
    • Interest or background in the arts, including visual arts, performing arts, creative activities, or arts-based wellness
    • Interest in youth mental wellness, mental health awareness, youth advocacy, community outreach, nonprofit work, or public health
    • Consistent, reliable, responsible, and able to follow through on event commitments
    • Good communication skills and ability to work well with a team
    • Comfortable representing MGB at events, workshops, and community spaces

    Time Commitment / Expectations:

Volunteers should have consistent availability to support in-person events and office-based outreach activities in San Diego County. Because the San Diego team has frequent events throughout the month, applicants with stable schedules and reliable transportation are preferred.

    Application Note:

    • Priority will be given to applicants located near Point Loma, Loma Portal, Truxtun, or nearby San Diego areas, since MGB has frequent events and office-based activities in this area.
    • Applicants should be comfortable supporting family-friendly events involving children, families, art activities, and youth mental wellness.
