    Description

    Membership & Community Ambassador (Volunteer)

National Association for Accreditation Leadership (NAAL) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing accreditation leadership across public safety disciplines, including law enforcement, fire, EMS, corrections, communications, and emergency management. NAAL exists to support accreditation managers, assessors, and organizational leaders by elevating accreditation beyond technical compliance and positioning it as a strategic driver of organizational excellence, accountability, and trust. Through national dialogue, professional education, publications, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, NAAL serves as a neutral, mission-driven convener for accreditation leadership nationwide. NAAL is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 public charity, with tax-exempt status retroactive to May 1, 2025.

NAAL is seeking a Membership & Community Ambassador (Volunteer) to support its continued national growth and engagement efforts. This is a leadership-oriented volunteer role designed for an experienced professional who is well-respected within accreditation, professional standards, or public safety leadership communities and who is motivated to contribute at a strategic level. The role focuses on relationship-building, peer engagement, and professional outreach rather than sales activity or administrative support. The successful candidate will serve as an ambassador for NAAL’s mission, helping to strengthen professional connections, expand awareness of NAAL’s work, and support thoughtful growth of its membership community across disciplines.

Responsibilities include representing NAAL within professional networks, engaging peers and leaders in conversations about accreditation leadership, assisting with outreach to prospective members and partner organizations, and providing insight and feedback on member engagement strategies. The role requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to communicate NAAL’s mission and values with credibility and professionalism.

Qualified candidates typically have experience in accreditation, professional standards, organizational compliance, or public safety leadership, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and are comfortable engaging executives, managers, and peers in professional dialogue. Prior involvement with accreditation programs, professional associations, or peer-driven organizations is preferred. The anticipated time commitment is approximately 5–10 hours per month, with flexibility to accommodate professional schedules. This is a remote, national, volunteer leadership role, with the opportunity for continued involvement as NAAL grows.

NAAL is an equal opportunity nonprofit organization and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Volunteer selections are made based on qualifications, experience, and alignment with NAAL’s mission and values.
