    Description

Urgently Seeking Russian/English Speaking Volunteers for Visiting Holocaust Survivors

We are urgently seeking bilingual Russian/English speaking volunteers for our Friendly Visiting Program for Russia-speaking Holocaust survivors living in Brooklyn, Queens and Nassau County.

Friendly Visitor Volunteers meet one-on-one with a client survivor on a weekly or bi-weekly basis in the client's home. Provide companionship, engage in conversation and lend a listening ear. Activities could include board/card games, taking a walk, shopping/errand help. You'll have the opportunity to develop a personal connection and contribute to the well-being and quality of life for a member of this special community.

Reassurance Phone Call volunteers also needed. If you aren't able to meet in person, a regular weekly phone call to a client is also a volunteer option.

Must be able to make a 6 month (minimum) commitment.
