    Description

    Calling all Hobby Gardeners!

Love gardening and want to learn more about it? Here at Applewood, we're looking for more hobby gardeners to join our volunteer team and help us maintain our beautiful gardens!

    Horticulture Support

Support the horticulture staff with tasks around the grounds or in the greenhouse, which could include planting, weeding, or harvesting fruit. Horticulture shifts are available exclusively to our trained volunteers Wednesday through Friday in the morning during our open season.

Applewood volunteers are valued members of the Ruth Mott Foundation team. Through volunteering at Applewood, community members are given the opportunity to participate in their community and support the Foundation’s community engagement efforts. Please fill out an application to join us if our Horticulture Support role sounds like a good fit for you! Our volunteer onboarding process includes a background check and an in person training day on April 18th. Our open season runs May through October and we rely on volunteer support throughout that time.

If you are interested or have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Assistant Manager of Visitor Services and Volunteers by phone call or text at 810-280-3736 or via email at ahiggins@ruthmott.org.
