Become a Child Advocate Tutor
Details
Description
Child Advocate Tutors provide high-quality, consistent, and accessible educational support to children and youth utilizing volunteers trained specifically in trauma-informed practices. The program is designed for children in kindergarten through 12th grade and allows them to meet one-on-one with their volunteer tutor on a weekly basis. Tutors assist with homework and learning concepts in a supportive and caring environment, helping each child reach their educational goals, build their confidence, and feel supported as they navigate through their school years.
Tutors are assigned to students for the full school year, with the option to continue working together longer if the tutor and student wish to do so.
Tutors select the student they wish to work with based on the youth’s needs and the volunteer’s ability to support them through their skill set or knowledge base.
