Inspire a Scholar at a One Million Degrees Career Panel (Topic: Cover Letters)

One Million Degrees (OMD) Student Development Sessions (SDS) Employer Panels are meaningful opportunities for professionals to share their insights, career journeys, and day‑to‑day work experiences with second‑year OMD Scholars across all seven City Colleges of Chicago.

OMD Scholars are community college students who have persisted through challenges, demonstrated remarkable resilience, and are striving to reach their full potential as leaders in their families, workplaces, and communities. By serving as an SDS Employer Panelist, you will offer Scholars a window into the world of work— helping them envision what’s possible in their academic and professional futures.

Panelists share personal stories, professional lessons learned in the medical field, and practical advice from their own career paths. You’ll engage in thoughtful discussion, answer questions from OMD moderators and scholars, and provide guidance that empowers Scholars to explore next steps with confidence.

Panel Topic: This session will explore elements of the job search and application process. Panelists will be invited to share career journey through the medical field, personal experiences, and industry insights that help Scholars strengthen their professional story and communicate their skills effectively through cover letters.
