    About Rural Smiles Foundation

    Rural Smiles Foundation is a community-driven nonprofit organization based in Uganda, committed to advancing health and health rights, digital rights and internet freedom, economic empowerment, social inclusion and civic space, and renewable energy access for vulnerable populations.

    Through integrated programming, advocacy, and technology innovation including platforms like SPACEUG we work to empower rural communities, strengthen civic participation, and improve access to essential services.

    About the Volunteer Opportunity

    We are seeking dedicated, passionate, and skilled volunteers to support our growing programs and operations. This is an opportunity to contribute to impactful, community-centered work while gaining valuable experience in the nonprofit and development sector.

    We welcome applications from individuals across different backgrounds, especially those interested in human rights, public health, digital innovation, governance, and community development.

    Areas of Engagement

    Volunteers may contribute in one or more of the following areas:

    • Programs & Research: Support project implementation, research, data collection, and reporting.
    • Communications & Advocacy: Content creation, social media management, storytelling, and campaigns.
    • Digital & Technology: Support platforms like SPACEUG, digital safety initiatives, and data systems.
    • Fundraising & Partnerships: Proposal writing, donor research, and partnership development.
    • Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E): Data analysis, impact tracking, and learning documentation.
    • Administration & Operations: HR support, documentation, coordination, and knowledge management.

    Who We Are Looking For

    We are looking for individuals who:

    • Are passionate about social impact, human rights, and community development.
    • Have strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
    • Are self-driven, reliable, and able to work independently or in a team.
    • Bring relevant skills or experience in any of the areas listed above.
    • Are committed to ethical practice, confidentiality, and respect for diversity.
