    Description

    Food Pantry Delivery Driver for Homebound Community Members

    Initiative: Beyond the Basics

    Impact area: Basic Needs (food, clothing, housing)

    Location(s): Hartford, CT

    Hours: Second and fourth Saturdays, 8:00am-12:30pm

    Desired level of commitment: twice a month

    Duration: Year-round

    Age requirement: 18+

    Tasks may include:

    • Delivering boxes to homes in Hartford, Windsor, Bloomfield, Rocky Hill and Wethersfield
    • Lifting heavy boxes
    • Helping prepare delivery boxes

    In order to volunteer, you should be:

    • A registered UAServe volunteer (you will have a chance to register if you haven’t already)
    • Willing to attend an orientation prior to volunteering
    • Willing to submit a background check
    • Open to an ongoing volunteer commitment that works with your schedule
    • Able to use own van or truck
    • Personable
    • Reliable
    • Patient
    • Honest
    • Able to lift 50 lbs.
    • Able to use own van or truck
    • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus, but not required.
