    Description

    Volunteer at Sound Learning (Non-Tutor) in Mason and Thurston County

    ORGANIZATION: Sound Learning is a dynamic community-based adult and family education organization offering innovative, quality basic skills (reading, writing, math, other curriculum, GED Prep, HS 21+ diploma & job skills along with basic computer skills) and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) programs to adult learners and their families in Mason and Thurston Counties. We work with trained community volunteers to provide 1:1, small group, and classroom-based instruction. We are committed to learner-centered education that addresses participants’ goals and priorities, and is based on collaborative model.

    POSITION DESCRIPITION: Help with non-tutoring functions at our Downtown Shelton site and possible other locations around the Mason and Thurston County area. These functions could entail fundraising assistance for events, maintenance of the Downtown site, technical assistance, and other tasks when needed.

    • No previous teaching experience necessary

    COMMITMENT: Hours and schedule are on as needed basis and are flexible.
