Autism Today is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. Through education, advocacy, programs, and community engagement, we aim to create accessible and inclusive solutions that empower autistic individuals across all stages of life.
### Position Overview
The Website Developer / Designer Volunteer will support Autism Today by helping design, maintain, and improve our websites and landing pages. This role is ideal for someone interested in web development, website design, user experience, and digital accessibility while gaining hands-on experience in a nonprofit environment.
Volunteers will work closely with the Marketing and IT teams to ensure Autism Today's websites remain engaging, user-friendly, and up to date.
### Key Responsibilities
**Website Development & Design**
- Assist with website design, development, and layout improvements
- Help build and update landing pages for campaigns and initiatives
- Support website content updates and page maintenance
- Ensure websites follow Autism Today's branding and design standards
**Technical Support & Maintenance**
- Assist with website troubleshooting and resolving basic technical issues
- Help improve website performance, responsiveness, and user experience
- Support regular website maintenance and updates
- Assist with CMS (Content Management System) updates and content management
**Team Collaboration**
- Work closely with the Marketing, IT, and Content teams
- Support website-related projects and digital initiatives
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for new website features and improvements
### Qualifications
- Interest in web development, web design, or digital technologies
- Basic knowledge of WordPress or other Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, or JavaScript is an asset but not required
- Understanding of responsive web design and user experience principles is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and work collaboratively within a volunteer team
