Description
Position Summary
The M&E Officer (Data Collection) will lead the design and execution of all primary data collection activities. This role ensures that data gathered from the field is accurate, timely, and reflective of project indicators. You will be the bridge between the office and the field sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Tool Development: Design and pre-test digital and paper-based data collection tools (ODK, KoboToolbox, or SurveyCTO).
- Field Supervision: Lead field teams and enumerators during household surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), and routine monitoring visits.
- Data Quality Assurance: Conduct "spot checks" and back-checks on collected data to ensure authenticity and minimize bias.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with local district leaders and community members across Uganda to facilitate smooth field operations.
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in mobile data collection platforms (Kobo/ODK).
- Physical Presence: Ability to travel to project sites up to 100% of the time.
Languages: Fluency in English and at least two major local languages (e.g., Luganda, Runyankole, Acholi, or Lusoga, depending on the site).
