Description:

Leah's Pantry is looking for one volunteer driver to help load food from our local food bank partner, unload, and distribute at the low-income housing site - Almaden Lake, a BRIDGE Housing community in San Jose.

Volunteer driver will meet Leah's Pantry staff at the 2nd Harvest of Silicon Valley food bank, load food into personal vehicle, drive to Almaden Lake housing site, unload, set up, and help distribute food to residents. It's only a few hours' commitment for a lasting feeling of helping others and the SJ community.

No experience is needed—we'll provide virtual training(s) prior to Food Distribution.

This opportunity is a great fit for anyone looking to give back to the community, earn volunteer or community service hours, or support local families and seniors.

Volunteer Duties:

• Meet the LP staff at the food bank and load food into your personal vehicle
• Drive to the distribution site and load
• Help set up a pantry-style/farmers market distribution style
• Distribute food directly to residents
• Help keep the distribution running smoothly

What to Bring:

• Closed-toe shoes
• Comfortable clothing
• A friendly attitude and willingness to help
• Personal vehicle (trucks not mandatory)

Community service hours can be verified if needed.
