As a GUTTS volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals who are eager to pursue careers in HVAC, plumbing, and other skilled trades, but who may lack access to traditional pathways. Your time, talent, and dedication will help open doors to opportunity and economic mobility.

Volunteer Role Highlights:

• • Schedule: Part-time, three days per week
  • Location: In-person at our Fairfax City training site
  • Impact: Support job seekers through tutoring

📘Tutoring Volunteers

Support students academically and professionally throughout their training journey:

• • Provide tutoring in:
  • 6th-grade level math for entry assessment preparation
  • 7th-grade level English for assessment success
  • Interview techniques and essential soft skills for career readiness
  • Offer ongoing academic support during the three-week course to promote student achievement
  • Encourage confidence, persistence, and personal growth in learners

Ideal Candidates:

• • Comfortable in a casual office setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer tasks
  • Passionate about workforce development and community empowerment
