    Description

    About Us

LoopRoots Foundation and LoopTroop Inc. are part of a connected social-impact ecosystem dedicated to improving access to transportation, housing, food, and wellness for families impacted by incarceration and poverty.

Our mission is to build technology and programs that create equity and opportunity for families — blending innovation with compassion to power community transformation.

    About the Role

We’re seeking a detail-oriented, mission-driven Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee basic financial tracking, budgeting, and grant-funded reporting across both LoopRoots Foundation (nonprofit) and LoopTroop Inc. (social enterprise).

This is a volunteer hybrid position (20–25 hours per week) with the opportunity to transition into a paid position post-launch, based on performance and available funding.

You’ll collaborate directly with the Founder & Executive Director (Marketta Kirby) and the Executive Assistant (Victoria Isaac) to establish accounting systems, track program budgets, and help prepare reports for grants and sponsors.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and manage financial tracking systems for both the Foundation and the App.
    • Maintain accurate accounting records, budgets, and expense logs in Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or similar tools.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial summaries for leadership review.
    • Assist in creating grant budgets and financial reporting documentation.
    • Support setup of donor acknowledgment tracking and in-kind donation valuation.
    • Coordinate with Program Managers to monitor project budgets and grant-related expenses.
    • Contribute to building internal finance policies for transparency and compliance.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 2+ years of experience in nonprofit or small-business accounting.
    • Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar).
    • Understanding of nonprofit financial management, grants, and donor reporting preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Passion for using financial systems to advance social-impact initiatives.

    What We Offer

    • Opportunity to shape financial systems for a growing social-impact organization.
    • Hands-on experience across both nonprofit and hybrid corporate structures.
    • Flexible hybrid schedule (remote with virtual meetings).
    • Direct mentorship from executive leadership.
    • Pathway to a paid position post-launch, based on performance and available funding.
