Description
The volunteer clinician will support P.E.P. INC.'s community-based programs by providing clinical assessments, screening, consultation, referrals, and supportive services to individuals and families in need.
This position will serve the general community, with particular emphasis on individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness and individuals who are justice impacted, including those transitioning back into the community.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct appropriate clinical or behavioral-health assessments within the volunteer's scope of practice.
Assist with identifying behavioral-health, social, housing, and supportive-service needs.
Provide brief supportive interventions, education, and resource navigation as appropriate.
Make appropriate referrals to mental-health, substance-use, medical, housing, and social-service providers.
Collaborate with Community Health Workers, Peer Support Specialists, case managers, and community partners.
Participate in multidisciplinary service planning and case consultation.
Support community outreach and engagement activities when appropriate.
Maintain appropriate professional, ethical, confidentiality, and documentation standards.
Ideal Volunteer
We welcome licensed or appropriately credentialed clinicians with experience in one or more of the following:
Mental and behavioral health
Social work
Psychology
Counseling
Substance-use services
Community health
Homeless services
Reentry or justice-impacted populations
Trauma-informed care
Community-based or integrated care
Experience working with people experiencing homelessness or individuals returning to the community after incarceration is strongly preferred, but we also welcome clinicians who are motivated to serve these populations.
