    Description

    Erik's Way is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families impacted by cancer through memory-making events that foster joy and connection. We strive to ensure that everyone navigating the trauma of cancer feels supported and cherished. Believing in the power of community for positive healing, we are committed to making our resources and events accessible to all members of our extended family.

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a passionate and skilled Volunteer Grant Writer to join our team. This role is crucial in securing funding to support our programs, events, and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, experience in grant writing, and a strong commitment to our mission.

    Responsibilities

    • Grant Research: Identify potential funding opportunities through research on foundations, corporations, and government grants.
    • Proposal Writing: Write and submit compelling grant proposals and applications, including letters of inquiry, full proposals, budgets, and supporting documents.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with other Erik's Way volunteers and Board Members to gather necessary information for grant applications and ensure alignment with funding requirements.
    • Reporting: Prepare and submit grant reports as required by funders, ensuring compliance with all grant requirements and deadlines.
    • Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective funders.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all grant applications, submissions, and outcomes in our grant management system.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: Previous experience in grant writing, preferably in the non-profit or health sector.
    • Writing Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
    • Research Skills: Strong research skills to identify funding opportunities and understand funder guidelines.
    • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and external partners.
    • Knowledge: Familiarity with the health field (specifically the area of cancer) and non-profit organizations is a plus.
