    Description

    Board Members

Invicta Child Foundation is seeking board members who care about building genuine human connection at scale — both through SoYouAmI™, our online community platform, and through in-person work like our annual Summit and community outreach. Board members provide strategic direction and governance oversight as the organisation grows, help safeguard the integrity of a platform built around vulnerable, honest sharing, guide fundraising and partnership development, and bring outside expertise — whether in nonprofit governance, child safeguarding, technology, mental health, or community development — to a young organisation still shaping its structure. We're looking for people who believe a platform built on empathy over algorithms is worth stewarding carefully.

Board Members — Roles & Responsibilities

    Officer roles (standard nonprofit structure):

    • Chair — sets the board agenda, leads meetings, is the main point of accountability to the organisation and, where needed, external partners
    • Vice Chair — supports the Chair and steps in when the Chair is unavailable
    • Secretary — records minutes, maintains governance records, ensures meeting and reporting obligations are met
    • Treasurer — oversees budget, financial reporting, and financial oversight of fundraising

Every board member, regardless of officer role:

    • Duty of care — actively engage, ask questions, exercise good judgment on decisions affecting the organisation
    • Duty of loyalty — act in the organisation's interest, not personal or outside interest
    • Duty of obedience — ensure the organisation acts consistently with its mission and legal obligations
    • Attend meetings, contribute relevant expertise, and support fundraising or partnership efforts where possible
