Shifts are 8 am - 12:30 pm or 12:30-5 pm on both Saturday and Sunday and from 9-11 on Friday 05/29/26. Up to Four (4) volunteers are needed for each shift except for Friday, when two (2) are needed.

Set-up is on Friday, May 29 th from 8 am to 12 pm. Take-down volunteers are needed on Sunday May 31 2025 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. for light cleaning/ tidying ((At least three - for taking down art, throwing out trash, cleaning easels, etc.))

YAE! Youth Art Expo was created with the idea of having a place where children’s art can be included, encouraged, and explored during the Redlands Art Association’s and Redlands Festival of the Arts’ co-sponsored art events in Smiley Park in Redlands, California.

YAE includes a juried art show featuring work from child artists from the Redlands area. Prizes are awarded and in the adjoining space, art stations are available for kids to stop by and make art.

YAE was created and is organized by the Margaret Clark Art Education and Enrichment Fund Committee of the Redlands Art Association.

Volunteer opportunities exist for operating the painting easels, paper/ origami crafting station, and print-making. At least one person needed for each station. Training and assistance will be provided. Great volunteer opportunity for teens, those training in child care/ education, and adults alike! Easels station- this volunteer opportunity involves filling paint cups, helping kids clean brushes, replacing water for cleaning brushes, hanging up painted pages on the "wall" of the tent/ drying lines to dry. Paper Crafting station - Volunteers will help kids assemble a paper/origami "monster"! Print-making station- Print making station volunteers will guide kids in handling soft foam that will "print" onto paper, help them roll a brush into non-toxic paint, and apply the "created print" onto paper. All of the volunteer opportunies involve demonstrating painting possibilities to help guide kids to create their own art piece!
